At Oracle Mining, we base our Community Policy on three principles:
1) Engagement
2) Collaboration
3) Participation
Engagement
We believe the strongest and most beneficial community ties result from early engagement. That's why, as the Oracle Ridge Copper project develops, we're communicating with local stakeholders to ensure they are well informed of our plans and how the process will impact individuals and communities. We are committed to establishing strong, collaborative relationships with the people affected most by our development.
A successful mining project should benefit far more than shareholders and the employees. That's why our community policy also includes collaboration in the form of local training, education and employment that will benefit the people who live in the communities where we operate. We also strive to use local suppliers and contractors whenever possible.
We also recognize that environmental impacts can affect local employment, particularly if an area supports farming, fishing and/or hunting. We believe we can participate in these local activities by developing projects that not only generate local economic benefits but that also avoid or minimize potential negative impacts to important flora and fauna in a region. We may even be able to fund environmental enhancement programs in partnership with other community groups that not only protect local harvesting.
